How to organize a workshop:

All workshops are brought to your work site, and can be offered in a training room, conference or break room, or even in a warehouse. (Any facility that has adequate room for employees to move around.)

Anya brings her own visual aides, posters, dry-erase boards and easels, and teaching tools.  Employer provides a chair for all participants, and a small table for presenter.  Larger groups may benefit from a PowerPoint presentation – in this case employer provides projector, electric cords, and projection screen. Presenter will supply computer.

Length of Trainings:

Workshops and safety trainings are customized for your specific company and employee needs. Basic workshop materials can be presented in a minimum of 90 minutes. Usually employers request customize topics, add task/job specific training, demonstration and discussion. These additions can stretch a workshop to 120 minutes.

A good bet is to plan for two hours, including participant sign-in (registration) and question/answer period. Often employers request task specific training in addition to the class room training. This involves moving the group to the work area and simulating tasks or practicing safe back/sprain prevention techniques with the actual tools or materials. This adds time onto the workshop, and is planned for during initial safety program design.
